Exploding Vape Pen Kills Fort Worth Man
William Brown, 24, died last week from injuries he suffered after the vape's battery malfunctioned.

FORT WORTH, TX -- A 24-year-old man has died after the battery of the vape pen he bought at Smoke & Vape DZ in Keller malfunctioned and killed him. William Brown died after his left internal carotid artery was severed, the medical examiner wrote according to WFAA.
The vape was brand new when Brown, an electrician, had tried to use it in his car last week, his grandmother Alice Brown told WFAA.
"He popped it and it exploded, and that's when it shot across his mouth," Brown said. "When they x-rayed him, they found the stem, the metal embedded to where the blood flows up to the brain."
