Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. The Dallas Police Department is actively searching for an individual that performed a fatal hit-and-run along the LBJ Freeway. The incident occurred on Monday night around 11:00 p.m. and resulted in the death of a pedestrian walking along the freeway's service road. The victim's identity has not been released by the department. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Despite numerous setbacks, Texas Central High-Speed Railway officials report that the project is still in the works. The company has stopped all land acquisitions, is bleeding leadership, and the original timeline has eclipsed — but apparently, the project will continue. The project would create a high-speed rail between Dallas and Houston. (Texas Tribune)
  3. Dallas' Tarantino's Cicchetti Bar & Record Lounge is closing. The owner of the Italian restaurant, located in Expo Park, decided to close its doors after experiencing heavy flooding during the Aug. 21 storm. Patrons of the restaurant attempted to assist in recovery efforts but the restaurant owner has thrown in the towel. (CultureMap Dallas)
