Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- A new Dallas event is providing residents with the opportunity to explore dog breeds before adopting. The first American Kennel Club Meet the Breeds event is on Saturday and Sunday at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The two-day event will be open to the public and cost $20 for children with $30 tickets for adults. (WFAA.com)
- Teach For America is slated to partner with the Dallas Independent School District to reduce educational inequalities. The district will be receiving about 30 teachers through the program. The district is working to fill more than 500 open positions before the next school year with a job fair planned for next month. (Patch)
- The Dallas Public Library is hosting Turn UP today. The event is a full day of free summer learning activities. The free event will be offering STEM music, crafts, dance, and much more. The event will also be giving away bags of household products such as detergent, diapers, and paper towels. Turn UP is from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
