In a recent interview with Mick Fleetwood, he stated the following, “We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realize that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.” This is in reference to the recent controversy where the band had to let go of Lindsey Buckingham, who served as the songwriter and guitarist of the band for several years.

The band has been on and off since 1970s, replacing members along the way. Yet this internal turmoil and change didn’t shake the integrity and originality of the band. They still hold up to their standards and meet the fan’s expectations with unwavering success and beloved hits spanning over three generations.

Mike Campbell has previously been one of the Heartbreakers, and now plays as the band’s lead guitar slinger. Neil Finn is the new singer and songwriter of the band who formerly jammed with Split Enz and Crowded House. The two new members seem to work in harmony with the style and pace of the band while bringing their own elements to the performance. The six piece version of Fleetwood Mac has so far been successful in capturing the audience’s attention. The performers and band members Finn, Campbell, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie put on a great show with back up from a keyboardist, percussionist and backup vocalists. You can find the members to essentially be on the same wavelength and complimenting each other’s style to bring out their talents.

Though you may feel the absence of Buckingham on stage, it doesn’t really affect the performance and the set list of songs that we have come to love over the years. The fan favorite “The Chain” is a Blockbuster from Rumors, and it still continues to enthrall the audience without the commandeered vocalist.
