Fort Worth, Texas - In the wake of an internal probe surrounding an event that transpired on February 17, Fort Worth Police Officer Michael Williams has been relieved of his duties, Dallas Metro News reported.

The department revealed that Williams was embroiled in a verbal dispute with employees at a Boyd establishment. Reports suggest that Williams brandished his firearm, instilling "fear for their safety and the safety of the other customers," as specified in a press release.

During the investigation period, Williams was relegated to limited duty and stripped of his law enforcement capabilities. However, after a comprehensive examination of the probe, it was determined by Williams' superiors that he had transgressed several FWPD regulations.

The concurrence of Chief Noakes with these findings was confirmed in the release, as reported by CBS News.

"The Fort Worth Police Department will continue to hold employees accountable who do not meet the standards expected of a Fort Worth Police Officer and in doing so, will continue to be transparent and open with our community," the chief shared in the release.
