(Patch Media)

Good morning, hello! It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Dallas Daily — back in your inbox with everything you need to know about what's happening in town.

But first, today's weather:

Breezy with clouds, then sun. High: 70 Low: 49.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Dallas who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Dallas Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will be providing free rides to polling locations on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Voters can ride free of charge on all DART buses, trains, and streetcars that day. The promotion does not require proof of voter registration. Early voting rides will be available to and from the Dallas County Elections Training/Warehouse on Round Table Drive through Nov. 4. (Focusdailynews)
  2. This year's State Fair of Texas had almost 2.5 million attendees. That rate is close to the fair's pre-pandemic attendance levels. Last year, the fair had over 2.2 million attendees. Almost $2 million was raised for youth livestock exhibitors through this year's fair. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
  3. The individuals killed during the Methodist Dallas Medical Center shooting have been identified. Jacqueline Pokuaa, a patient case manager, and Katie Flowers, a nurse, were shot by Nestor Hernandez on Saturday morning. He had been given permission to be at the Dallas hospital for the birth of his child by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. Read more about the case at the link. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
