Here are the top stories today in Dallas:
- The University Police Department has identified the 39-year-old victim of a fatal shooting found in the street on Lovers Lane near the Shell Gas Station on Oct. 5 as Marc Anthony Montes. Police are searching for a 2004 to 2006 F-150 connected to the crime. Montes died at Parkland Hospital and witnesses told police he was apparently pushed out of the truck moments after gunfire was heard. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- The nearly 250 tenants displaced after an apartment explosion in South Dallas last week, received fliers announcing their hotel stays were extended through "at least" Wednesday. The City's Office of Emergency Management confirmed with WFAA on Tuesday that the tenants have to be checked out by Thursday because of the rooms already booked for Texas/OU weekend. Multiple agencies have been working to serve the displaced tenants. (WFAA.com)
- Trash pickups in Dallas are getting back to normal as staffing gets better. (KERA News)
- The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying whomever shot a red and tan Doberman-type dog on Wednesday, Sept. 8. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
