- The Dallas Museum of Art has acquired a painting entitled "María" by adjunct act professor Arely Morales. The painting is an oil on canvas depiction of an immigrant woman picking apples under the harsh bright rays of the sun. "I'm trying to talk about issues that go into being a farm laborer, being an immigrant, and being very vulnerable," Morales said. (SFA The Pine Log Online)
- The Dallas Police Department is searching for the driver of a gold sedan who struck a man while he was getting out of his vehicle. According to reports, the incident happened at 2700 S. Harwood Street. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- A recently-filed lawsuit is claiming that a giant otter at the Dallas World Aquarium brutally attacked a two-year-old girl in 2019. According to the lawsuit filed by the girl's parents, an otter at the downtown aquarium allegedly cut the girl's right, middle, and ring fingers. The suit further claims that there was not appropriate signage in front of the exhibit to warn patrons to maintain a safe distance from the enclosure. (WFAA.com)
