Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. A Dallas Grand Jury has indicted the man accused in the attack on an Asian-owned hair salon. Jeremy Smith, 37, has been issued 7 indictments for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The incident occurred at the Hair World Salon in Dallas' Koreatown on May 11. Smith remains in custody. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. The National Weather Service reports that the tall cylindrical whirlwind spotted in Dallas on Tuesday was not a tornado. It was a "gustnado." The difference between the two weather features is the intensity of the winds. A gustnado is essentially a large dust devil that can form along the leading edge of outflow winds. (The Dallas Morning News)
  3. The Dallas Police Department has arrested a suspect in the fatal beating of a 48-year-old man. The victim was located in a northwest Dallas drainage ditch in July. Isaias Reyes Hernandez, 56, was arrested on murder charges. His bail has been set at $1 million. (The Dallas Morning News)
