Dallas - In a robust expansion plan, H-E-B, one of the most expansive privately-owned supermarket chains in the nation, has seen a flurry of activity over the past year in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan region. The firm is unwavering in its commitment to continue this rapid growth and fortify its North Texas footprint, Dallas Metro News reported.
Recent developments include new outlets in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, and Mansfield. Each new branch adds to H-E-B's increasing national retail presence. To appreciate the substantial influence of H-E-B's growth, we'll delve into the specifics of the DFW locations.

The Frisco H-E-B store, located at 4800 Main Street, officially started operations on September 21, 2022. More than just a grocery outlet, this sprawling 11,000 square-foot establishment also houses a comprehensive H-E-B Pharmacy with drive-thru facilities and True Texas BBQ, the state's top-rated barbecue chain according to Texas Monthly, also with a drive-thru. This store is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Additionally, plans are in place for a second Frisco branch, aimed to meet the escalating demands of eastern Denton County. Construction for this outlet, located at the crossroads of HWY 380 and FM 423, kicked off in June after a May announcement, with the projected completion date by the end of 2024.

H-E-B Plano
Simultaneously with two locations in Houston, the Plano H-E-B outlet began operations on November 2, 2022. This store, located at 6001 Preston Road, carries forward the tradition of six Central Market locations that have catered to DFW shoppers for several decades. The operational hours of this outlet mirror its Frisco sister, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
H-E-B also inaugurated an eCommerce fulfillment center in Plano recently, marking the occasion with a $5,000 donation to the Plano ISD Robotics Club.
H-E-B McKinney
On March 3, 2022, H-E-B collaborated with McKinney Mayor George Fuller to commence construction on a new outlet situated at the northeastern corner of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway. This upcoming McKinney branch, scheduled to open its doors on July 19, 2023, is the third H-E-B project currently in progress in the DFW Metroplex.
H-E-B Allen
Additionally, H-E-B commenced construction on another store in Allen on May 25. The new establishment, located at the northwest intersection of Exchange Parkway and State Highway 5 (Greenville Avenue), is projected for a Fall 2023 opening.
H-E-B Mansfield
Construction for the H-E-B Mansfield branch officially began in February 2023. The 118,000 square-foot store is expected to offer an extensive array of quality products and pioneer novel services that loyal H-E-B customers have come to admire. The Mansfield outlet's doors are set to open in Spring 2024.
H-E-B Dallas
Reinforcing its aggressive growth plan, H-E-B has unveiled intentions to launch two Joe V’s Smart Shop locations in Dallas, a move that represents a strategic shift beyond the Houston area. These stores will mark the first instances of this diverse retail model branching out.
The first store will be located at 4101 W. Wheatland Road, at the intersection with Highway 67. Meanwhile, planning is underway for the second store at 5204 S. Buckner Blvd., which will occupy a prime location at the corner of Samuell Street. The Wheatland Road store is slated to open in late summer 2024, with its Buckner Blvd. counterpart projected to follow in Spring 2025.
H-E-B Prosper
The growing presence of H-E-B in the Dallas-Fort Worth area continues to stir curiosity. Last summer, reports surfaced that the retailer had purchased nearly 20 acres of land in Prosper, strategically situated at the southeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and Frontier Parkway. However, H-E-B remains coy about its precise plans for this newly acquired plot.
H-E-B Celina
Likewise, recent indications point to H-E-B's acquisition of approximately 15 acres in Celina. The parcel, located at the southeast intersection of Preston and the upcoming Outer Loop, further highlights the company's robust expansion tactics. Similar to the Prosper location, the company has chosen to remain silent about the potential project, with no official timeline or announcement released as of yet.
