Here are the top 4 stories in Dallas today:

  1. Reports of smoke and haze — and the accompanying smell — came from all over the Metroplex on Thursday, prompting local residents to wonder where it was coming from. According to meteorologists, Wednesday's intense winds from a storm system that moved into the Midwest spread wildfires across the Texas panhandle, parts of Oklahoma, and Kansas. The northerly wind brought a smoky haze into Sachse, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Far North Dallas, and Prosper. (WFAAWFAA)
  2. Three people in Dallas were shot during two separate overnight robbery attempts Wednesday night. One victim was parked in his driveway on Ohio Avenue in East Oak Cliff when two armed men approached, tried to rob him, and shot at him. Later, a man and woman were found with gunshot wounds on a sidewalk on Norco Drive in West Dallas after an assumed robbery gone bad. No one has been arrested in either case. (FOX 4 Dallas)
  3. Whether you're looking for holiday cheer or a night on the town, there's plenty to do in Dallas this weekend. There are multiple musical and theatrical performances across the city, including LeeAnn Rimes, The Lone Star Circus, and The Nutcracker, plus a comedy show by four well-known "Vets of SNL."
