Here's How To Celebrate Hanukkah In Dallas

Organizations throughout Dallas are hosting Hanukkah events for people of all ages. Find out where to celebrate below.

DALLAS, TX — Hanukkah sameach, Dallas! Dec. 12 marks the beginning of the 8-day Festival of Lights, and Dallas organizations have prepared a number of ways for Dallasites to celebrate. From Menorah lightings to a Latkes & Vodka party, Jewish organizations in North Texas have Hanukkah fun covered for folks of all ages.

Menorah Lighting at NorthPark Mall

  • December 12, 2017
  • Northpark Mall — Event will be located on the 1st floor next to Nordstroms
  • 5:00 p.m.
  • Rabbi Mendel Dubrawsky, head Rabbi at Chabad of Dallas, will lead this event which will include the lighting of the first night’s Chanukah candle, a performance by the Akiba children’s choir, and free sufganiot and gelt. The menorah will be lit with an additional light for each of the eight nights (through Dec. 19) at 5 p.m.; the party is only on the first night.

  • Tom Thumb at Coit & Campbell.
  • Join Chabad as we light the Menorah outside Tom Thumb. Enjoy delicious hot latkes sponsored by Tom Thumb, chocolate gelt and exciting things for the little ones!

  • Menorah will be lit at 5:00 p.m.

Chanukah Celebration at Frisco City Hall

  • Dec. 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Chabad of Frisco invites you to their Fourth Annual Community Chanukah Celebration!
  • Join us at the Simpson Plaza outside Frisco City hall featuring hot drinks, latkes, entertainment for the kids and more!

Chocolate Gelt Factory

  • Wire your own electric menorah and enjoy crafts and much fun!

Chanukah Fire on Ice! in Southlake

  • Sunday, Dec. 12
  • 6:30 p.m. — Rustic Park in Southlake Town Square
  • Join Arlington Chabad for a night firey fun.
  • Enjoy greetings from local dignitaries, an ice menorah, latkes, donuts and chocolate gelt.

Chanukah with the Mavs

Hanukkah at Dr. Pepper Star Center

  • Sunday, Dec. 17 — 3:15-5:15 p.m.
  • Dr. Pepper Star Center in Frisco
  • Free latkes, donuts and hot cocoa
  • Meet the maccabees, learn to skate, make some slime and enjoy fun crafts!
  • Admission is $12 per person. Skates included.

Deep Ellum Backyard Chanukah Party

  • Light the candles, grab a beer and hang with your friends at Backyard Bar Saturday, Dec. 16 from 9:30 p.m.
  • $10 for advance tickets (includes a beer on us) $15 at the door
  • This event is for people 21 and older.

Latkes & Vodkas

  • MoHo Dallas
  • Sunday, Dec. 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Dallas YJP and MoHo Dallas created an amazing Hanukkah event with a Latke bar, Vodka and some Hanukkah learning and fun.

Hanukkah Classical Concert

  • Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Light refreshments at 6:30 p.m. in the Baruch HaShem Atrium, followed by lighting the hanukkiah in the sanctuary at 7:00 p.m.
  • Program features works by J. S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, F. Liszt, Scriabin and traditional Hanukkah tunes.
  • Performers: Hannah Salazar, Juaquin Salazar, Mai El Moughayar, Jonathan Nymeyer, Philip Savov, Shokhvrit Mand and Boriana Savova.
  • Free Admission
