Highland Springs' Floor Plans Support Active Lifestyles

Lynn Hammert loves the open layout and view of her one-bedroom one and a half bath home.

From one-bedroom layouts to spacious two-bedroom floor plans with dens, Highland Springs, an Erickson Senior Living community in North Dallas, Tex., offers a range of residences that suit every style and budget.

"Some people prefer to have a dedicated space for hobbies while others are ready to downsize and simplify their life," says Sales Director Christina Christie. "Our team can help find the perfect home for you."

And with the addition of the Eastside neighborhood, future residents will have even more floor plans to choose from. The new Bishop, Collin, and McKinney layouts boast modern design elements, bright interiors, and thoughtful use of space.

Stylish designs

The one-bedroom Bishop and Collin floor plans were designed to feel open and airy.

"They feel exceptionally spacious," says Christie. "Both include one full and one half bath, and many offer a screened porch that extends the living area."

For those seeking additional space, Christie recommends the McKinney, a two-bedroom, two-bath design.

"It offers two bedrooms on opposite sides of the home, creating privacy for guests," she explains. "A lot of residents say they really like having the living room in the middle. It's one of the biggest perks of this design."

She adds, "And the second bedroom provides flexibility. It could be an office, crafting space, guest room--whatever fits your lifestyle."

No matter what floor plan you choose, all residences include walk-in closets, in-home washer and dryer units, modern appliances, and quartz countertops. Many homes feature balconies and large windows as well.

'Just the right size'

For resident Lynn Hammert, the Collin is the perfect fit for her lifestyle--and her cat Cleo.

When Lynn and her husband Carl were exploring their senior living options, Highland Springs' continuum of care was a real draw. "Carl was showing signs of dementia, and we knew Highland Springs offers everything we would need," says Lynn, pointing to the additional levels of care like assisted living and memory care.

Soon after settling into their two-bedroom residence in 2021, they immersed themselves in community life. "We enjoy access to meals at an array of restaurants, beautiful grounds, a CVS Pharmacy, and a bank. The longer we've lived here, the more amenities we found!"

But when Carl needed more care and transitioned to memory care, Lynn moved into a Collin.

"Our apartment suddenly seemed too large. After looking at several plans, the Collin seemed to be just the right size for me and Cleo," Lynn says. "I only needed one bedroom with an attached full bathroom, but I really liked the idea of an extra half bathroom."

Lynn sits at the bar in her large open-plan kitchen for breakfast and lunch, enjoying the natural flow of the space.

"With my couch in the middle of the living space, I can see out the double glass balcony doors," Lynn says. "I get this same view from the kitchen. The living area and kitchen are always bright and have a nice open feeling."

Custom touches

Highland Springs residents can customize their homes with support from the community's Custom Interiors team. Lynn was excited to take advantage of this service.

"The designer suggested adding extra cabinets in the bathrooms and laundry closet," Lynn says. "I also added extra shelves and clothing racks in the walk-in closet and changed the closet door in the bedroom."

Lynn is grateful that she lives in a home that's close to Carl and supports her vibrant lifestyle.

"Almost everything I need is right here," she says. "And it is so comforting that Carl is here too, within walking distance."

Don't wait!

The Bishop, Collin, and McKinney floor plans are currently available in the Eastside neighborhood--but not for long.

"These lovely residences are among the most popular options in Eastside. People who choose these homes will be close to the fitness center, pickleball court, and Crescent Club restaurant," Christie says. "But they're going fast!"

She continues, "If you're interested in moving to Highland Springs, consider joining the Priority List. It will save your spot in line for a residence at our lively community."
