Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. The 2022 Count reports that Dallas County experienced a decrease in its homeless population compared to last year. Despite the decrease, the county's homeless population is still at an unprecedented level due to the challenges presented during the pandemic. The report also showed a concerning racial disparity in the homeless population. (KERA News)
  2. The Dallas Police Department is reportedly increasing its presence in Asian American neighborhoods after recent shootings. The department is concerned that recent shootings may be connected and are racially motivated. Officials have reached out to the FBI and to the Joint Terrorism Task Force for additional assistance in the matter. (CBS Dallas)
  3. North Texas residents gathered at Dallas City Hall on Saturday to show support for abortion rights. The rally was organized by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the Women's March, and various other groups. The central theme for the rally was "Bans Off Our Bodies."
