Largest Nursing Home Company In Texas Files For Bankruptcy

Senior Care Centers, LLC employs roughly 11,000 people around the state.

DALLAS, TX -- Senior Care Centers, LLC, a nursing and senior living provider that services 10,000 people around Texas, has declared bankruptcy. The Dallas-based company operates 100 facilities around the state. High rent and debt are what forced the company to seek protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, Senior Care stated in a news release.

"All of the actions we are announcing today have one clear and overriding goal – to ensure every single one of our patients and residents continue to receive safe and comfortable care now and in the future," Michael Beal, chief operating officer, said in the release Tuesday. "This plan allows us to address certain financial issues while continuing to provide the critical care and support on which our residents rely while we work to transition certain communities to new operators."

The company claims patient care will not suffer under bankruptcy and pay to its 11,000 employees will not be interrupted.
