Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- The Dallas City Council has approved a new city policy that places limitations on resources used for abortion investigations. The new policy was approved through a 13-to-one vote. The policy prohibits city employees from keeping records, doing surveillance, or dispensing information related to abortion investigations. Councilmember Adam McGough was the only member to vote against the policy. (The Dallas Morning News)
- The Dallas Independent School District is considering turning Election Day into a virtual workday for teachers. The proposal is in response to safety concerns. The plan will be debated during today's board meeting. District schools are often used as polling locations due to large parking lots, ADA compliance, and spacious facilities. - The Dallas Police Department reports that a child was taken to a local hospital after being shot during a road rage incident. The 10-year-old child was struck by a bullet in the foot and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The department is currently investigating the incident. (WFAA.com)
