Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. John Mayer performed a memorable show on Sunday at Dallas' American Airlines Center. Mayer performed at the center three years ago but returned to showcase his new album Sob Rock. Nine talented musicians accompanied Mayer on a stage, decorated with tart colors and Reagan-era artwork. (Dallas Observer)
  2. On the topic of the American Airlines Center, superstar singer and rapper Lizzo will be performing at the venue on Oct. 28. The performance is part of her upcoming The Special Tour, which will stop in 25 different cities. Tickets will go on sale publicly on Apr. 29. (CultureMap Dallas)
  3. The Dallas community stepped up to answer a plea for help from Dallas Animal Rescue Services. The shelter was experiencing a kennel space shortage on Apr. 12 when the shelter asked for help via social media. The community adopted 241 dogs, fostered 63 dogs, and transferred 39 additional dogs.
