Here are the top stories in Dallas today:
- Lone Star Donuts, whose history dates back to 1950, will close its retail storefront at 1727 N. Beckley Ave. in Dallas' Oak Cliff by the end of Dec. Lone Star is credited with introducing the first automated doughnut production line to Dallas where you could see the doughnuts being made — a convention since popularized by Krispy Kreme. Its parent organization, Lone Star Consolidated Foods, will continue making baked goods including bread, biscuits, croutons, doughnuts, pies, and pastries, for chains like Walmart and Sam's Club. - Police are searching for a 49-year-old man who was last seen in Far East Dallas. Jeffrey Nathan Lovell, 49, was last seen about 7 p.m. on Sunday in the 8500 block of Van Pelt Drive, near St. Francis Avenue, wearing a blue plaid shirt, blue jeans, and a black cap. He is described as a white man who is about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, with brown hair, a gray beard, and blue eyes. He has a medical condition and may be in need of assistance. - Loop 12 was closed for a several hours on Tuesday morning after a fully loaded fuel tanker crashed into an SUV and was left partially hanging off a West Dallas overpass. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
