Here are the top stories today in Dallas:
- A 23-year-old man was killed while checking on people who were involved in a crash on I-35 in Dallas early Saturday morning. The initial crash happened when 21-year-old Victoria Garner-Council lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a guard rail, being hit by a second vehicle as she went back into traffic. When the 23-year-old went to check on the affected drivers, his vehicle was also struck. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. - Non-profits throughout the country have struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic, but some Dallas cultural groups could soon receive much-needed funds from the city's arts commission. The Dallas Quality of Life, Arts, and Culture Committee will meet this morning to hear recommendations for Cultural Organizations Program (COP) funding, as well as updates on VisitDallas Arts and Culture Marketing and the Outdoor Adventures at Samuell Farm.
