Mesquite Parks and Recreation presents October festivities
October events to look forward to in Mesquite

Mesquite, Texas - The Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department has organized two family-friendly events for October to enhance community engagement.
On Saturday, October 7, the department will conclude its Movies in the Park series with a screening of “The Addams Family 2” at dusk. Pre-show activities, starting at 7 p.m., will feature face painting, basketball, volleyball, and a selection of snack concessions. This event, free to the public, will be held at Rorie-Galloway Day Camp, located at 3100 Lawson Road. Attendees are advised to bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfort. Food will be available for purchase from Fera’s Grill food truck.
On Saturday, October 21, the annual PumpkinFest will take place at Paschall Park, located at 1001 New Market Road. Running from noon to 5 p.m., the event will introduce a hay maze and hay ride. Other activities include costume contests for children and adults, a dog costume competition, and a pumpkin-pie eating contest. The PumpkinFest will also feature a pumpkin patch, carnival games, inflatable bounce houses, face painting, live performances, and an arts and crafts section. A designated area for trick-or-treating and food trucks serving seasonal treats will also be present.
