Murder Charge Filed Against Mesquite Woman

MESQUITE, TX -- A 23-year-old Mesquite woman has been charged with murder following an incident Sunday morning. At about 8:15 a.m., Mesquite Police were called to the 1600 block of Wesley Drive because of Juan Rivera Garcia, 36, of Mesquite, who had died following multiple gunshot wounds.

Based on the subsequent investigation, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Kailey Elizabeth Marnell, 23, also of Mesquite.

Marnell was arrested and charged with one count of murder. Bond was set at $250,000. The investigation is still ongoing.
