Here are the top stories in Dallas today:
- A new restaurant concept focused on steaks, seafood, and sushi from Dallas hospitality group Apheleia Restaurant Group called Wits is coming to Dallas' Design District. The restaurant will open at 1628 Oak Lawn Ave. in early November, in the space previously occupied by Oak, with an acclaimed chef Aaron Redlitz in the house. (CultureMap Dallas)
- Two people were injured in separate incidents of random shootings early Wednesday morning in Dallas. A person told officers early Wednesday morning she was in her apartment when she heard gunshots and was hit in the face. Another person told officers that he was walking in the alleyway when he was shot in the back early Wednesday morning in southern Dallas. No arrests have been made in either incident. (WFAA.com)
- Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars, has partnered on a new venture designed to disrupt big pharma and keep the cost of prescription drugs down. (CultureMap Dallas)
- A mother and her son want answers after Dallas police mistakenly assumed they were burglars and detained them while they were in their own house. (FOX 4 Dallas)
