- As the holidays approach, the omicron COVID-19 variant is looming large for Dallas hospitals. Healthcare facilities across the city are preparing for a potential coronavirus case increase in January due to holiday travel. If the expected surge does occur, Stephen Love, president and CEO of the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council, said he's most worried about the current staffing shortages, where nurses and other healthcare workers have left the field due to burnout. - A Dallas Police motorcycle officer was injured in a major accident along the I-30 service road in Rockwall yesterday. Rockwall EMS responded to the scene and transported the officer to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The westbound lanes of the service road were shut down for several hours while deputies investigated. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- On Tuesday morning, volunteers gathered at City Square to prepare and distribute boxes of food for Dallas residents in need this holiday season. City Square said it helps 62,000 people a year with basic needs like food, housing, healthcare, and programs to lift them out of poverty.(NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)

Members of the Texas Organizing Project said their proposal would help many groups that frequently have difficulty getting the help they need without a government-issued ID, namely undocumented people, the formerly incarcerated, and people experiencing homelessness.
