Owl Poacher Sought In Kaufman County
Police say the protected bird, a Barred Owl, was found dead near Scurry on Sunday, Feb. 4.

SCURRY, TX — Game wardens and officials from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department are looking for the person who illegally shot and killed a Barred Owl on Feb. 4. According to officials, the owl was found dead near Mount Olive Cemetery outside of the town of Scurry.
The owl was shot between 1:15 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on that Sunday, officials say.
Anyone who knows information about this owl's death is asked to contact Kaufman County's Operation Game Thief at 1-800-792-GAME(4263).
