Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Dallas Police Department found a man fatally shot in the 6700 block of Eastridge Drive. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning after a resident reported a body lying on the sidewalk. The department has not identified the man but will be conducting an investigation into the shooting. (The Dallas Morning News)
- The Dallas City Council is attempting to speed up the city's permitting process. The city is currently experiencing a housing crisis that is negatively impacted by a delayed permitting process caused by outdated software and deficient workflow. The current process can take more than 40 days for a single-family home permit, according to developers. (KERA News)
- A popular LA ice cream spot is coming to Dallas. The Dolly Llama is opening its first Texas location at 2817 Howell St. Suite 201. The shop will open for customers on May 28 after its May 26 ribbon-cutting ceremony. Click to explore the shop's full menu. (WFAA.com)
