LHB Industries Social Service Mission

RapidFix and Tear Mender product lines are owned by LHB Industries, Inc., which is the trade name of Lighthouse for the Blind-Saint Louis, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 manufacturing, distribution and social services organization founded in 1933. Today, the organization helps children and adults who are visually impaired maintain dignity and independence by offering employment, education and support services. LHB currently employs 48 people who are legally blind in two assembly and packaging plants in St. Louis County, Missouri, to assemble, pack and ship RapidFix, Quake Kare and Tear Mender products, as well as LHB’s flagship products for business, government and military customers. All sales revenues directly support LHB’s 16 Community Outreach Programs under the banner “See the Future.”

The Lighthouse bought the assets of RapidFix and Tear Mender in 2017 and 2015, respectively, to give LHB more exposure in commercial retail markets in addition to its business in government and military sales, and to maintain employment opportunities for LHB’s in-plant workforce.

“We hope to make many new friends in Dallas at the Ace Hardware Spring Convention.” Houser said.
