Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended Dallas' Dr. David Livingstone Henderson's medical license. The suspension is due to his arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail on bond. He is best known for a series of psychiatric videos he produced and for a book he wrote titled "Finding Purpose Beyond Our Pain." (D Magazine)
- The Dallas Police Department is reportedly still searching for a suspect in a Jul. 9 hit-and-run. The suspect struck and killed 71-year-old Portia Dickens with an SUV along Esperanza Road. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department immediately. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Dallas County Public Health Committee has announced that its COVID-19 risk level has risen to orange. The new level urges the community to practice extreme caution to slow the spread of the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has the county listed as a red category. The committee has named waning immunity and a lack of masking as the contributing factors to the level change.
