(Patch Media)

Hello, hello! I'm back in your inbox this morning with the most important things happening in town. Here's the lowdown.

First, today's weather:

A shower and thunderstorm. High: 88 Low: 72.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Dallas who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Dallas Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. The Dallas Budget Initiative Tracker reports a goal of fixing 20.4 miles of sidewalks before Oct. 22. The Department of Public Works identified 1,081 miles of sidewalk in need of repair in 2021. At the city's current repair rate, it would take 50 years to address the amount of sidewalk that needs repairs. (The Dallas Morning News)
  2. The Dallas Police Department made a bizarre arrest on Sunday morning. According to the department, Ryan Glover, 27, was arrested in his underwear after a crimewave through the city. The individual who called the police on Glover reported he sounded like he was under the influence of something. He is currently facing multiple charges, including murder. (Fox 4 News)
  3. Dallas' Spencer Jackson Burke has been awarded the Environmental Protection Agency's President's Environmental Youth Award. He was given the award for his leadership in several conservation projects on native solitary bee species. The city's youth are encouraged by the agency to apply for the prestigious award meant to showcase conservation efforts. Click to apply. (EPA)

Today in Dallas:

  • 5th Riverfront Jazz Festival At The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (7:00 PM)
  • The Market At The Dallas Farmers Market (All Day)

From my notebook:

  • Check out the latest list of Dallas properties to hit the market at the link. We're loving the twin trees in the front yard of the listed property on Leafy Lane. (Dallas Patch)
  • Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center reports that it is almost at full capacity. Please consider adopting. Click to view some of the dogs searching for new homes. (Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center via Facebook)
  • The DFW Airport asks travelers to allow extra time on arrival. There will likely be a high volume of travelers parking for the Labor Day weekend. (DFW Airport via Facebook)
