Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

1. A small single-engine aircraft crashed in Boulder Park on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred near the Dallas Executive Airport after the pilot experienced engine trouble. According to the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department, the pilot was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the incident. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
2. A Dallas Police Department officer shot a man that pulled a gun during a drug transaction in a convenience store parking lot. The incident occurred off Jupiter Road around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. The drug buyer fled the scene and evaded the department. The shot suspect is in critical condition at a local hospital. 3. The world's largest dinosaur event is opening today at Centennial Hall in Fair Park. Jurassic Quest is a three-day event that features several life-size animatronic dinosaurs.
