Sunnyvale Closes Schools Tuesday, Wednesday After Flu Outbreak

School spaces and buses will be disinfected Tuesday and Wednesday to combat an outbreak of the flu. Classes will resume Thursday.

SUNNYVALE, TX — Administrators at Sunnyvale Independent School District announced Monday all schools in the district will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13 due to "the number of students and staff members exhibiting flu-like symptoms."

The district said in a Facebook post the elementary, middle and high schools have seen an increase in the number of cases of influenza. As a result, the district aims to disinfect all the schools' buses and other spaces.

All school activities for Tuesday and Wednesday, including evening activities, will be cancelled as well.
