Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- Dallas County Public Health has confirmed the 14th case of monkeypox. According to the department, community spread has also been detected. The virus is rare but can be spread with close, personal, skin-to-skin contact. Anyone can catch Monkeypox - no matter race, age, or sexual orientation. The CDC reports that 928 cases have been confirmed in the United States. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
- Dallas teens can get free passes to local parks and attractions through the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. The Teen All Access Pass program is meant for children between 13 and 17 years of age. The passes work at 12 Dallas attractions. This year's pass offers admission to the African American Museum at Fair Park, Golf Dallas, and Perot Museum of Nature and Science. (Dallas Post Tribune)
- More than 1,200 pastors have gathered in Dallas for a conference. The pastors are discussing how to transition the church post-COVID pandemic, how to engage youth, and "Christ-centered justice."
