Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Dallas Police Department reports that a teenager was found shot and killed in their car on Monday night. The incident occurred at 6500 Bexar Street near the Sargent neighborhood. Officers responded after a call was placed about a shooting. The teenager has been identified as Salvador Milan, 17-years-old. (WFAA.com)
- Dallas and North Texas communities encountered heavy rainfall, hail, and at least one tornado on Monday night that has left the area facing heavy damage. The storm has reportedly left some communities with damaged roofs, damaged buildings, overturned vehicles, and some personal injuries. Dallas County experienced the most rainfall during the storm at three inches. (The Dallas Morning News)
- Lightning from the storm that ravaged North Texas on Monday night has caused a fire in Johnson County. The fire at a North Texas pallet yard was reportedly set by lightning from the powerful storm. Initial reports indicate that the fire will likely burn for days due to the available fuel for the blaze. (Patch)
