Tornado Watch Issued For 30 North Texas Counties

Thirty counties across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond are under a Tornado Watch until 10:00 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for several North Texas counties, including Tarrant and Dallas.

A tornado watch is issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. They normally are issued well in advance of the actual occurrence of severe weather. During the watch, people should review tornado safety rules and be prepared to move to a place of safety if threatening weather approaches.
