Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Dallas Police Department reports that at least eleven people have been injured and one person has been pronounced dead following a Saturday night shooting. Officers responded to 5050 Cleveland Drive following reports of the shooting that occurred during a trail ride and concert. According to witnesses, roughly 2,000 people were in attendance at the Second Annual Epic Easter Bike Out & Field Party before the shooting occurred. (WFAA.com)
- Dallas' Department of Public Works announces a proposal to repair sidewalks throughout the city. The proposal is in response to a mini walking survey that was performed last summer in Council District 12. The report detailed how Dallas sidewalks are in desperate need of repair and are threatening the city's hopes of becoming a walkable community. (The Dallas Morning News)
- Six Southern Dallas schools celebrated excellence during the Parade of Champions on Saturday. The parade was in recognition of South Oak Cliff, Duncanville, DeSoto, and Madison High School, and Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy winning prestigious titles.
