Trick Or Treat At These Safe Events On Halloween
Door-to-door trick or treating can be scary for parents and kids. You can feel safe at these family-friendly events around Dallas.

DALLAS, TX — Door-to-door trick or treating can be fun, but it might not be the safest way to get candy. Many parents choose instead to take their children to Halloween-themed, family-friendly events. Here are a few trick-or-treat hot spots where everyone can have fun and feel safe.
Irving — 7th Annual Trick or Treat
The 7th Annual Trick or Treat in Irving is prepared with $3,000.00 worth of candy and little toys for families who attend. At 2832 Laramie St., the street will be closed and Irving police officers will be in attendance. The event will include a Halloween light show, popcorn, candy, photo booths, a raffle and more. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Irving Police and Fire Blue Christmas or a donation of $20. Proceeds will go toward Irving Police and Fire Blue Christmas, an organization that gives toys and other help to families in need during the holidays.

VeltNation Mustangs Trunk or Treat
The members of the Roosevelt Alumni Association will host a trick-or-treat event to give back to Franklin D. Roosevelt High School and kids in the area. Trunk or Treat organizers call the event "a fun, safe, version of trick-or-treating, but instead of children going door to door to collect candy, they go from trunk to trunk." The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. and will be located at 525 Bonnie View Road in Dallas.

Kids Night Out — Plano (THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED)
The City of Plano's Halloween event has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Plano police department still encourages parents and kids to read their Halloween Safety brochure.
Street N' Treat — Grand Prairie
Sweet N' Treat at the Grand Prairie Farmers Market offers free games and trick-or-treating in Market Square. The festivities run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 120 W. Main St. in Grand Prairie. Kids are encouraged to bring a large bucket for candy and dress to impress.
Unity on Greenville — Dallas
Unity on Greenville will host a community trick-or-treat event at 3425 Greenville Ave. in Dallas. Prizes for kids include candy, frisbees, pencils and tons of fun. The fun will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Royal Highlands Halloween Trick or Treat
This kid-friendly event will take place on Trail Hill Drive between White Rock Trail and Royal Highlands in Dallas. From 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., kids and families can trick-or-treat, play games and have fun.
