Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. Dallas College plans on hosting tuition-free preschools for 2022. It is opening Bezos Academy preschools in the fall of 2022 on their its Cedar Valley and Mountain View Campuses. These schools are year-round, full-day programming, five days a week for kids from 3-5 years old. (CW33 NewsFix)
  2. A sleeping teenager was killed in a drive-by shooting early Tuesday morning. 17-year-old Crystal Rodriguez was shot and killed in her bedroom while when a bullet hit her during a drive-by shooting. Police do not have any suspects as of yet. (FOX 4 Dallas)
  3. Dallas schools are offering an extra $50 a day for substitute teachers. The increase in pay is to incentivize more substitute teachers to cover for the teacher shortage caused by arise in COVID-19 cases. The Dallas school district said that last week more than two hundred of its 10,000 teachers were out sick. (FOX 4 Dallas)
