Two Shot And Killed At Arlington Sports Bar

Gunman had confrontation with the manager of the place before shooting him, prompting an armed customer to kill the suspect.

ARLINGTON, TX — Two people were shot and killed in an Arlington sports bar on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at the Zona Caliente Sports Bar and Grillelocated along the 6500 block of South Cooper St. at about 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, according to CBS 11 and other local media. Police said a man with a gun entered the establishment and confronted the manager, Cesar Perez, 32, of Grand Prairie before fatally shooting him.

An armed customer who witnessed the incident then shot and killed the suspect, police said. The suspect was identified as James Jones, 48, of Duncanville. The name of the armed customer has not been released.

A motive for the shooting is unclear, as is the relationship between the two dead men. Police are in the process of interviewing customers and witnesses as part of their ongoing investigation.
