DALLAS, TX — A mobile billboard plastered with a tweet from President Donald Trump denigrating Sen. Ted Cruz has gone viral after it was spotted in Dallas Friday. The billboard, which was purchased by the MAD DOG PAC last week, features Trump's tweet from Feb. 28, 2016 stating, "Why would the people of Texas support Ted Cruz when he has accomplished absolutely nothing for them. He is another all talk, no action pol!"
Photos of the billboard have shown up on Facebook, where on "The Modern Texan" page it was shared more than 300 times Friday.
"The reaction has been enormous," MAD DOG PAC chair Claude Taylor told Patch. "In reality, in truth, Trump hates Cruz, as do most people."
A request for comment has been placed with Cruz and his campaign. Cruz will debate Representative Beto O' Rourke Friday at 6 p.m. in Dallas. The next two debates are scheduled Sept. 30 in Houston and Oct. 16 in San Antonio. The mobile billboard will be at both, Taylor said.
Early voting begins on Oct. 22 with Election Day on Nov. 6.
