The service honoring fallen senior corporal Earl 'Jamie' Givens begins at 11 a.m. Thursday at Prestonwood Baptist Church.

PLANO, TX — Earl 'Jamie' Givens, the Dallas Police Department officer who died Saturday when his motorcycle was struck by a suspected intoxicated driver, will be laid to rest Thursday after a funeral at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held in the church's main auditorium and is open to the public. For those who can't attend, the church has provided a live-stream that can be viewed below.
Givens, was, along with other officers from the motorcycle unit, escorting the body of a former officer from Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas to a burial site in East Texas at the time of the crash.

Givens had used his motorcycle to block the eastbound entrance ramp of I-20 at Bonnie View Road when he was struck by a Kia Sportage that was driving at a high rate of speed. He was pronounced dead at Baylor University Medical Center.
