Weatherford Teacher Dies From Flu Complications

The woman, 38, taught second grade at Bose Ikard Elementary School, sources report.

WEATHERFORD, TX — Students and family members of a second grade teacher in the small community west of Fort Worth are mourning the death of a beloved teacher. According to various media outlets, Heather Holland, 38, died Sunday after she experienced complications of the flu and went into septic shock.

Holland's husband told KXAS the teacher started taking a TamiFlu prescription Thursday but her symptoms continued to worsen. By Friday she was in Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

She later died from the complications, leaving behind a 10-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, the station reported.
