Hello again, everybody! It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Daily. Let's get this week started off right, with a quick review of everything you need to know about what's going on in town these days.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. A Dallas homeowner reportedly shot and killed an individual during an incident on Saturday night. According to the Dallas Police Department, the shooting victim threatened the homeowner in the 2600 block of Quinto Drive after attempting to break into several cars. The department has not issued charges as of Sunday evening. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. The Women's Leadership Summit will bring hundreds of women to Dallas with the goal of empowering women this next weekend. The event is scheduled for the Renaissance Dallas Hotel on Friday and Saturday. U.S. District Judge Vanessa Gilmore is one of the event's keynote speakers. (WFAA.com)
  3. The Dallas Back to School Fair prepared students for the 2022-2023 school year. Students were vaccinated during the event hosted by HHM Health. Clear backpacks filled with school supplies were also distributed. Thousands of families participated in the event. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)

  • Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center expresses its appreciation for the Dallas Modern Quilt Guild's donation of 80 pet beds. The gift means a lot to the shelter's animals.
