AUSTIN, TX — A man is dead and another seriously injured following a traffic collision on the city's south side on Thursday morning.
Austin-Travis County EMS crews were dispatched to the stretch along Thaxton Road between the 9000 and 10423 block just before 9:15 a.m. An adult male patient was pronounced dead at the scene while another man in his 50s was transported via medical helicopter to Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, medics wrote on Twitter.
The fatal collision prompted closures in the area, affecting the flow of traffic. No further details were disclosed.
