EAST AUSTIN, TX — A motorist was killed in East Austin early Saturday, police said. The collision occurred along the 7900 block of Farm to Market 969 at around 5:30 a.m., police reported via Twitter. Police confirmed a person had died as a result of the crash. The roadway was blocked to traffic for some 4 1/2 hours before being reopened to accommodate a police investigation and road cleanup. The cause of the crash was not immediately known, nor were the age and gender of the deceased person.
