1618 Asian Fusion Restaurant In Austin Stages Grand Opening
The celebratory evening on Friday, Jan. 31, will pay homage to the restaurant's cultural roots while featuring half-price menu specials.

AUSTIN, TX — The family-owned 1618 Asian Fusion is celebrating a grand opening on Friday.
The eatery recently staged a soft opening off East Riverside Drive. Accommodating walk-in guests from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the celebratory evening will pay homage to the restaurant’s cultural roots while featuring half-price menu specials, complimentary bites, cultural entertainment, live music and much more.
Alongside its regularly available, pan-Asian menu, 1618 will offer diners a variety of delicious Grand Opening-only specials including a select menu of discounted signature items and complimentary passed bites. Providing guests a taste of each category of 1618’s menu, the Grand Opening Menu will include half-price, a-la-carte selections from each of its five main sections: appetizers, noodle soups, entrées “from the sky,” entrées “from the land” and entrées “from the sea.” Notable highlights from this special half-price menu include:

Throughout the evening, servers will also be passing complimentary small bites throughout the dining room. These passed bites will allow guests to sample even more of 1618’s eclectic menu, including the popular Grilled Lemongrass Duck Skewers and 1618 Eggroll.
In addition to its special food offerings, 1618 will also have a selection of its most popular cocktails available for half-price. The discounted Asian-inspired cocktails available to guests will include the fruity Tropical Asian made with tequila, triple sec, mango, and chili salt and the refreshing Secretini made with vodka, lychee, and cucumber juice.

Providing a lively, entertaining background for diners to enjoy their meals, the Grand Opening Party celebration will feature live music throughout the duration of the event from local pianist and singer Chloe Youtsey, who seamlessly blends the worlds and sounds of jazz, modern pop, soul, classic rock and bossa nova into one.
Further celebrating the rich fabrics of the diverse Asian cultures represented by 1618, each hour will also feature programming from various, local performance troupes. The Thai Temple Dancers will delight guests with their traditional Thai dancing; the Summit Lion Dance team will entertain with the art of lion dancing; and The Love of China School of Dance with elegant ribbon-dancing.

Riverside Blvd., Austin, Texas, 78741. 1618 is currently open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is ample free parking available in both the AMLI South Shore Building’s outdoor parking lot and covered garage.
