2 Deaths In Travis County Blamed On Fentanyl Pills
The Travis County Sheriff's Office said two people in their 20s were found dead on May 14 and May 17 with counterfeit oxycodone pills.
AUSTIN, TX — The Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to two deaths in as many days officials believe were caused by counterfeit oxycodone pills, a spokesperson confirmed on Monday.
According to an emailed advisory, two victims in their 20s were found dead on May 14 and May 17. In both cases, counterfeit oxycodone pills that are suspected to contain fentanyl were found.
Sheriff's official warned the public to be aware these pills could be lethal. The Drug Enforcement Agency is assisting with the investigations, sheriff's officials said, and will test the pills for their actual contents.

The official cause and manner of death for both decedents is pending final autopsy reports from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the sheriff's office.
