AFS : Chavela, A Documentary On the Life Of Chavela Vargas

AUSTIN, TX -- AFS Cinema and Austin Film Society will host a screening of "Chavela", a documentary on the life of legendary Mexican musician Chavela Vargas, from Sunday, Nov. 26 through Thursday, Nov. 30.

The film centers around never before-seen interview footage of the iconic musician filmed 20 years before her death in 2012. "Chavela" takes audiences on a powerfully evocative journey into the myths and realities of a legend by exploring the stories behind the songs, from those who knew her, and through her own unique narrative.
