Temps were surprisingly cooler than normal last week, much to everyone's delight, but we're back to triple-digit heat indices now. Sorry.
AUSTIN, TX — We hope you enjoyed the unseasonable cooler weather in Austin last week, because high temperatures more in line with what a typical Texas summer should feel like return this week. We're talking triple-digit heat indices.

The National Weather Service has prognosticated high temperatures through the week that will feel hotter with the heat index. Here's the tale of the tape:

- Tuesday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 103. South wind around 5 mph.
- Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind between 5 and 10 mph.
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east southeast.
- Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 76. South southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.
- Thursday: Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. South southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.
