Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Melinda Gates Speak At Day Three Of SXSW

Former California governor will discuss principles of effective governing, while Gates will discuss the future of her philanthropic work.

AUSTIN, TX — Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Melinda Gates will both speak at SXSW on Sunday.

Former California governor (and film action hero) Schwarzenegger talks with POLITICO’s Isaac Dovere about his own principles for effective governing, why he made gerrymandering and other issues his crusades after finishing as governor of California, and what he sees for the future of American politics.

The Sunday, March 11, talk is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 1:3o p.m. at the Hilton Austin Downtown, Salon H.

Equally muscular and robust will be a talk by philanthropist Gates, who co-founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with her husband. Melinda Gates' philanthropic efforts are geared to helping women and girls around the world reach their full potential. In her role as co-chair of the foundation, she recently launched an executive officer, Pivotal Ventures, which enables her to bring together the different strands of her advocacy and philanthropic work and create meaningful change, SXSW organizers wrote in the event descriptor.

Gates will headline a SXSW Interactive keynote at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Austin Convention Center.
