Ascension Seton Hays nationally recognized by Newsweek
Named a "Best Maternity Hospitals 2021"

Ascension Seton Hays has been named a “Best Maternity Hospitals 2021” by Newsweek, in partnership with The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that reports on the safety and quality performance of U.S. health care facilities. Facilities that made the list met Leapfrog's standards for safety and quality of the maternity care they provide. Ascension Seton Hays met Leapfrog’s standards for excellence in maternity care in areas such as: low rates of C-section, episiotomy, and early elective deliveries, and follow important protocols to protect moms and babies.
“Our maternity services team is committed to applying best practices based on the latest scientific evidence,” said Dr. Jason Bosco, chief of women’s services at Ascension Seton Hays. “This is the culture among our nurses, surgical technologists and physicians alike. We believe the amazing results we’ve achieved, year after year, are the result of our focus on quality care and patient experience”
Ascension Seton Hays Maternity Unit offers the full spectrum of labor and delivery care, close to home. In 2019, Ascension Seton Hays expanded its women’s services program with a new maternity unit. The new space includes a 10,000 square foot expansion, increasing capacity by more than 50% to meet the growing demand for OB services in Hays County and beyond. To complement the new facility, Ascension Seton Hays also remodeled existing maternity space to include two additional labor and delivery rooms. Additionally, Ascension Seton Hays also offers:

Maternity services at Ascension Seton Hays are part of comprehensive women’s services offered at the hospital, including comprehensive breast imaging and gynecological and breast surgery. Additionally, Ascension Seton Hays will continue to expand women’s services with the addition of urogynecology this fall.
“I have been part of the leadership team at Ascension Seton Hays since the hospital opened in 2009. Throughout the years, our passionate team has believed in the nurse/physician dyad partnership,” noted Keith Fitzgerald, director of women’s services at Ascension Seton Hays. “This dyad has contributed to the care we deliver to our community. The hands-on care of our physicians coupled with their personal investment with their patient’s attributes to the patient’s experience.
