Ascension Texas Board Announces Roles for Prominent Business Leaders

Influential Austin executives assume pivotal roles on Ascension Texas Board

Ascension Texas is pleased to announce the new members of its Board of Directors. These influential Austin executives assume pivotal roles on the health system’s board.

Dr. Montserrat “Montse” Fuentes, President of St. Edward’s University, has joined the Ascension Texas Board of Directors. In addition to her mission-aligned leadership at St. Edward's, President Fuentes is actively involved in the greater Austin community, serving as a board member in numerous organizations.
Doug Schmitt, President of Dell Technologies Services, is a recent new member of the Ascension Texas Board. Doug leads an organization of over 55,000 direct and partner team members across over 150 countries. Their experience and commitment to serving the community will strengthen our board's leadership, ensuring the continued success of our organization in Central Texas.

We are happy to share Kirsten Nieto, MD, is the newly appointed Board Chair. Dr. Nieto serves as interim Associate Chair for Inpatient Clinical Operations in the Department of Medicine and Associate Professor in the Department(s) of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at University of Texas Austin Dell Medical School. We are also pleased to announce newly appointed Board Vice-Chair Nestor Ho, Chief Legal Officer, Vice-President of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy, and Head of Corporate Services for Silicon Laboratories.
